Well, it happened. went down on the bike the end of September and have been recovering. You may ask what happened? I ask that myself.
Riding with a group of about 20 riders middle of the pack on the back roads of Nova Scotia (Canada) when all of a sudden the bikes in the front hit the brakes. When I hit the brakes, the front wheel locks up and down I go really fast. Contributing factors would be a worn front tire (was due to be replaced in the spring), cold pavement (cold fall day) and driver error (hitting the front brake too hard).
Damage to bike is limited to a bunch of scratched panels and a broken signal light(still fighting with insurance).
Damage to me more substantial. Concussion, two fractures in pelvis, two broken ribs, punctured lung. A week in the hospital, lots of morphine and three months recovery and I'm good to go. Been riding mountain bikes and motorcycles all my life so this is nothing new. Motorcycles are safer BTW...
Anyways, back on line and looking forward to spring and getting the back on the bike.
